Formula 1 driver Alexander Albon and young hopeful Liam Lawson will compete in the DTM with the support of Red Bull.
The 24-year-old Albon, seventh in the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship as Max Verstappen’s teammate with Red Bull Racing, will be used at selected DTM races whenever his Formula 1 commitments as a test, reserve and simulator driver permit.
Which driver will share the cockpit with Albon will be announced at a later date, as will the team and the sports car brand.
In the second Red Bull cockpit, Liam Lawson – just 18, a New Zealander and talent from the Red Bull Junior squad – will race in the DTM, which will be contested with high-performance GT sports cars for the first time in the new season.
